How to Reorder PDF Pages
Published 2026-08-23 · FreePDFToolbox
Wrong page order is embarrassing in a professional document. Here's how to fix it — or rearrange pages however you like.
Pages out of order? Slides shuffled? Need a specific sequence for submission? Reordering is instant when you know the syntax.
Reorder in three steps
- Open Reorder PDF Pages.
- Choose the PDF.
- Type the new order as page numbers separated by commas — like
3, 1, 2— and click REORDER.
Syntax you can use
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
3, 1, 2 | Page 3 first, then 1, then 2 |
1-3, 5 | Pages 1–3 expanded, then page 5 |
4, 4 | Page 4 twice (duplicates it) |
Out-of-range numbers are ignored; pages you didn't mention are appended in original order.
Reversing the whole document
Need the entire document backwards (scanned back-to-front)? Use Reverse PDF Pages — one click, no syntax.
Duplicating pages
To copy specific pages multiple times, use Duplicate PDF Pages — set the pages and the number of copies.
Common workflows
- Fix a scanning mistake — reverse, then rotate if pages are sideways (Rotate PDF).
- Insert a page mid-document — use Insert Pages into PDF instead of reordering.
- Build a new sequence from two files — merge first, then reorder.
